VICE Presents: Fashion Week Internationale - Nigeria
Over the past couple of years, the attention that African fashion has been receiving has increased considerably both on a continental and international level.
However, despite the lack in business infrastructure needed to generate revenues for designers and make the garments available to consumers, there has been a rapid surge in the number of fashion shows and weeks that have popped throughout the continent.
In this short video documentary, VICE Magazine visits a fashion week in Lagos, Nigeria, as well as a supermodel competition, as part of their Fashion Week Internationale series. Here, we get a glimpse of life in the fashion community of Lagos from angles - designers, models, industry insiders, and the social issues that affect the lives of these individuals.
